August 15, 1969 -- 42 years ago today -- Woodstock kicked off with a bang with acts like Ravi Shankar, Joan Baez, Arlo Guthrie and my pop's personal favorite, Country Joe McDonald. Too bad today is really just a regular old Monday for us. 2011 or 1969, I think this photo speaks to August 15 either way...

My parents convinced me when I was a child that they were the couple in the famous Woodstock photo of a couple hugging wrapped up in a blanket.
I learned the hard way in history class that it was indeed not them.....but I sometimes still like to pretend it is :)
oh i say you totally stick with the lie. that is a great story to pass off as true!
