Weekend Re-Cap: My life is complete... I have seen Elton John (play with Leon Russell!)

It happened, folks.  Now all I need is to run into Rob Halford while shopping at Whole Foods in Hillcrest or walking down 5th or something.  And win the lottery.  Then I'll really feel like my life is complete. Here's the rundown:

it was POURING rain (I believe that was Dr. Ralph Stanley on the screen)

My cousin, Cecelia -- moi -- My sister-in-law, Tanya!

there were a lot of people in the grass/mud area!

proof that I was there!

sir elton john!

leon russel!
Leon was completely adorable, Elton was just fantastic, Elvis Costello is ever-the entertainer, Jeff Bridges was precious, Kris Kristofferson sang Me and Bobby McGee and Merle Haggard was sick and stayed home on doctor's orders.  Neil Young came out and sang with Elton and Leon to play the song from The Union on which they all collaborated.  We skipped out on Buffalo Springfield due to the fact that we were sitting in mud, soaking wet, getting hungry and cranky.  I have a feeling that they'll do at least a little tour... hopefully that isn't the end of the reunion for them.  So, it really happened.  I have to give a huge shout out to my parental unit... they made this happen for me and I'm seriously SO SO grateful.  Peggi Young (Neil's wife) came out to speak after Elton + Leon and said exactly what I was thinking, "I'm still in awe about what just happened."  Me too, Peggi.

Wow Jules! How fun! So happy this worked out for you. Kris Kristofferson, Elvis Costello and Neil Young on one stage with Elton? Amazing. Monica saw Dave Mustaine at the Coffee Bean in Solana Beach once. Would that be up on your list of run-ins?
